Genesis Energy is making rapid advances toward a net zero emissions future. The company's annual reports reflect its commitment to innovation, and in 2023, it moved to a ‘digital first ’ format.
The Genesis team needed support to produce expert technical copy for its 2023 annual report, so it turned to regular partners, Big on Writing, who have also been writing for their Genesis climate change hub.
The 2023 and 2024 annual reports are each over 120 pages long and must cover almost every aspect of this complex organisation.
The best reports now give shareholders a full picture of the qualitative and quantitative success. From a writing perspective, this presents its own unique challenge as it requires a deep and accurate knowledge of specialist subjects, from annual report writing to sustainability and energy.

We also highlighted stats and information to create infographics and pull quotes as part of the project.
The 2023 Genesis annual report was recognised with gold awards in three categories at the 2024 InternationalARC Awards.
The collaboration between Big on Writing and Genesis helped produce the report on time and with minimal stress. This led to Genesis commissioning Big on Writing to produce all the non-financial sections of its 2024 annual report.
